Alabama First Right of Refusal

This training article is for first right of refusal claims for Alabama counties. For certain counties in Alabama that have utilized GovEase in the past, there is an option to have first right claims completed on the GovEase auction website. 

For the specific counties below, the previous winning bidder will have the option to claim the parcel(s) that they won from the previous year at that winning % interest. If you do not make the first right claim AND pay for the parcel(s) within the posted time frame, then those parcels will be put into the tax sale for this year. The following information will go over how to do so.

**In order to complete your first right of refusal claims on GovEase, you must log in to your GovEase account and complete the county-specific registration documents. Once your registration is complete, it must be approved before you can complete any first right of refusal claims. After You Have Registered and Been Approved, Follow These Steps for First Right Claims:

1. Visit GovEase.com.

2. Log in to your account.

3. Verify the correct county is selected on the Auctions tab. Use the drop-down menu.

4. Look on the left-hand toolbar then click First Right Claims.

5. Next, you will see the parcels that you won last year. Click Claim for the ones you want to make the first right claim on. 

6. Click Confirm.

7. Click OK.
